All the Wind In The World Interview + Giveaway

All The Wind In The World was one of the most surprising reads of 2017. Set in the near-distant future, amid severe climate change, a young girl, Sarah Jac, and boy, James Holt, in love, travel working the maguey fields that line the Southwest.  When an accident puts them on the run, they end up at the Real Marvelous ranch. They think they might be safe, but the ranch’s magic and mystery soon begin to reveal themselves as more than Sarah Jac and James bargained for.  This story unravels so uniquely and was so finely crafted by Samantha Mabry.  Her sweeping language made the elements of magic and the Western setting come to life and the ending left me absolutely stunned.  And I wasn’t the only one. All The Wind In The World is a 2017 National Book Award nominee2017 National Book Award nominee and has 4 starred trade reviews, among being on numerous lists, and I anticipate seeing this book on many year-end lists.  Check out more about the book and the author after the jump.

Beasts Made of Night Blog Tour + Giveaway

I am thrilled to be on the book tour today to give you a preview of Beasts Made of Night, a YA Nigerian fantasy that releases on Halloween.  The October 31st release date is perfect for a book that features such haunting descriptions of brutal battles with sin-beasts that leave the Aki marked by sin, both physically and emotionally, a dark, injust world run by the wealthy, poverty and income disparity.  This is a dark, dark tale with a unique world.  Many recommend it for fans of Paolo Bacigalupi and Nnedi Okorafor, but I would also tell fans of slow-burn fantasy, like The Bone Witch and Strange the Dreamer, to pick this one up.  Today’s preview will feature bookish aesthetics plus, a giveaway.

Who Wore It Best Vol. 2

In Volume 1 of this series, I highlighted similarly themed books with eye-catchingly similar covers.  As we learned, two books with similar covers can have similar themes.  Today, we explore books with similar covers but disparate plots.
