Today we mark the beginning of Black History Month. Here at YAWednesdays, we love to celebrate, especially we can uplift marginalized voices in the community. In that spirit, we are devoting the month of February to black YA authors. Just like we did last year, we asked authors to help us do our favorite thing–stack up our TBR’s with diverse recommendations.  Specifically, we asked them all to answer one question: what books inspired them before or as they wrote their books? Every Wednesday and Friday throughout the month of February, some of our favorite authors will give you some diverse suggestions and insight into their inspiration and we’ll tell you a little about them and their upcoming and recently released books. So who can you expect at our month-long celebration and when?

None other than…

2/2 – Brandy Colbert

2/7 – Ibi Zoboi

2/9 – Jay Coles

2/14 – Claire Kann

2/16 – LL McKinney

2/21 – Tiffany D. Jackson

2/23 – Ashley Woodfolk

2/28 – Rebecca Barrow

We look forward to sharing these authors stories with you!  Don’t forget to check out our February 2017 post of book recommendations from Nic Stone and Imani Josey.  See you tomorrow for our first installment of 2018!
