Two authors. Two points of view. Two events. Jason Reynolds and Brendan Keily will be in Orlando February 20th and we have all you need to know to attend.
I first encountered Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely at the ALA conference in Orlando last June. Jason and Brendan were promoting All American Boys which was published September 2015. I hadn’t read the stellar review from The New York Times or heard the insightful interview on NPR. What I did know is that the line to meet these authors was a mile long! This book was definitely on my radar.
By the time Jason Reynolds returned to Orlando for Geekcon in July, I was ready! Not only was I familiar with the dual penned All American Boys, but I’d done my homework on the collective works of both Jason and Brendan. But this event was only half the duo, I got to meet Jason, but there was no Brendan. The pair was incomplete.
Now here we are in 2017, and FINALLY I get another shot at meeting the co-authors of All American Boys! Jason and Brendan will be reunited in Florida for a series of events sponsored by the Orange County Library System.
Here are the event details:
Monday, February 20, 2017 at 6 pm: An Evening with Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely. Jason and Brendan will read from and discuss their poignant, award winning novel. This event will also include a book giveaway while supplies last.
Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 7 pm: An Evening with Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely. Orlando County Library System knows a good thing when they get it. They’re bring Jason and Brendan back for a SECOND night! Why not go both nights?
Whether or not you can make the event, you can certainly read the books of these two talented authors.
