If it's Wednesday, we're reviewing.

March Book Club

YA Wednesdays March Book Club meets the third Wednesday of the month at our favorite Tampa bookstore, Inkwood Books, This March, we’ll be reading Lauri Elizabeth Flynn’s first novel, Firsts.

If you live in Tampa, Florida and are looking for a Young Adult Fiction Book Club, look no further than YA Wednesdays @ Inkwood Books!  We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.  Readers of all ages are welcome.

Our March meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 16th at 7:00pm.  We will be reading Laura Elizabeth Flynn‘s Firsts.  Here’s a little about the book:

Seventeen-year-old Mercedes Ayres has an open-door policy when it comes to her bedroom, but only if the guy fulfills a specific criteria: he has to be a virgin. Mercedes lets the boys get their awkward, fumbling first times over with, and all she asks in return is that they give their girlfriends the perfect first time- the kind Mercedes never had herself.

Keeping what goes on in her bedroom a secret has been easy- so far. Her absentee mother isn’t home nearly enough to know about Mercedes’ extracurricular activities, and her uber-religious best friend, Angela, won’t even say the word “sex” until she gets married. But Mercedes doesn’t bank on Angela’s boyfriend finding out about her services and wanting a turn- or on Zach, who likes her for who she is instead of what she can do in bed.

When Mercedes’ perfect system falls apart, she has to find a way to salvage her reputation and figure out where her heart really belongs in the process. Funny, smart, and true-to-life, FIRSTS is a one-of-a-kind young adult novel about growing up.

If you’re interested, you only have to take two steps to attend.

  1. RSVP here.
  2. Buy the book here.

There will be snacks and refreshments and attendees will be entered into a drawing for some wonderful book swag.

  1. I’m not entirely sure what to think about this book. Part of me is curious & wants to tag it and part of me is the part that always wants to avoid contemporary. Lol. Hmm…I really trust your reviews so (unless I missed it already?) I think I’ll just wait to make a decision until I read what my fave twins, Poppy&Pippa have to say about it. 😉
