It’s the 10th anniversary of Twilight, the YA juggernaut and Stephanie Myer is giving fans something NO ONE expected. Entertainment Weekly broke the new early this morning that Myer has a new book in the Twilight universe Life And Death: Twilight Reimagined, out Tuesday.  In Life And Death: Twilight Reimagined,  Myer swaps Bella and Edward for Beau and Edythe. So instead of a sullen, sulky Bella Swan and brooding, over protective Edward Cullen,  we’ll get their male/female counterparts.  Myer said that rewriting Twilight with a gender reassignment was “fun, but also really fast and easy”. I suppose rewriting a book by switching the gender pronouns isn’t nearly as much work and writing the original.

With Midnight Sun we got (most of) Twilight through Edward’s point of view, now we’ll get the story through the eyes of Beau as a guy in distress being swept off his feet by his vampire girlfriend Edythe. I’m just wondering if the Edward watching Bella sleep thing is any LESS creepy if Edward is Edythe….nope, stalking is weird no matter the gender of the stalker.

So does this mean we can expect a Fifty Shades of Ms. Grey?
